David's path of life, part 3

David's path of life, part 3

Psalms 16:7 - 9,11

David's path of Life had GOD's counsel and GOD's Course

Thirdly, His path was with a Godly consolation v.9

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell;
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life:

David had a concluding Godly consolation, “therefore”, at the end or the sum of all that life added up. It was a great comfort from GOD. "Thou" or you LORD!!

For this was inward, an inward peace “my heart”.  But It became outward, an outward proclamation “rejoices” Oh, the emotions of it all, being expressed outwardly in rejoicing.

Then concluding consolation was upward, in thy presence, see verse 11
in thy presence is fulness of joy;at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
It was good for the after life, the next life, for us, it's Heaven, and being in GOD's presence. For when we ALL get to heaven, we will sing and shout the LORD's victory.

But Dear friend, What’s on your Path of life??
Are there troubles?? Are there testing?? Are there tears??

If so, it does not have to remain that way, for you may, "Seek the LORD while He may be found" also you may call on Him while He is near.

The bible says in Romans 10:9 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.

May God bless you,
Rev Dan

David's path of Life part 2

David's Path of Life, part two

Psalms 16: 7 - 9, 11

Hello ALL,

First we saw David's path of Life having counsel with GOD, see verse 7, but Secondly, we see David's path of life was set on a course, see verse 8

I have set the Lord always before me:because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

The word Set means to agree with, be or become like, level, resemble

So David had an agreed course with God in guidance. Alone with the sheep, holding a shepherds rod and staff. Later we David using a sling or sling shot, with smooth stones from the river. But this was enough to do his job and task, but most of all, GOD was with Him. He was speaking to David's heart and mind.

But then, His agreed course was with God’s guard.  David would not be moved from the LORD His GOD. He was David's right hand of power. His experiences with GOD in his life was the defining life lessons. No doubt, it was a walk and a talk with GOD.

Then David's agreed course was in gladness to GOD, see verse 9.
David concluded he was glad in GOD. His gladness was an inward gladness and very personal. Then this inward gladness became an outward expression. He declared he could rest in His hope. An inward work usually leads to an outward expression and it can be seen in David's life.

There is a song that says, "He has made me glad and I will rejoice because his has made me glad."

Dear friend, is there gladness or sadness in your heart and mind??  On David's agreed course he found gladness from GOD.  You may find that too, if you call on GOD to be saved and become a child of GOD. As David was glad in his heart, see verse 9, you too may believe in your heart and be glad too.

I pray that you will ask, believe and call on GOD today.

God bless you, please read part 3 and concluding part next time.

David's path of life

David's path of life

Psalms 16:7-9, 11

I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel:
my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me:
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell;
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life:

Here we see three things in David’s path of life

His Counsel, a course and a consolation

First, His path was with counsel v.7

Counsel means to advise; reflexively, to deliberate or resolve:

David was counseled as a son, house of Jesse, tribe of Judah, youngest son of eight, really he realized his position. The history and lineage was there for David, but David had that relationship his father Jesse and with GOD as a son.

GOD chose David, out of his eight brothers and gave him great godly insight after he was anointed by the prophet Samuel, as seen In 1 Samuel 16,  David was physically anointed with oil by the prophet which was out of a ram's horn. But physically poured oil on him, yes, for all, and Israel to see a sign from GOD which was for that period a sign that GOD chose David.

Then, David was counseled as a shepherd, for guiding and guarding his sheep in the correct paths. Guiding them through the green pastures and to the still waters. The great lessons learned from being a shepherd would apply to David leading people as well. Learning his flock then guiding and guarding them was part of his was counsel.

And then, David was counseled as a soldier, for standing and strategy for the sheep's protection. He learned very well from fighting a lion and the bear. He made a stand and then He had a sling and stone (rock) for a weapon. And, of course, he would have many battles to come.

So may I ask, what counsel do you seek from GOD?? Do you realize that he is speaking to you through the Holy Spirit??  For GOD speaks through the Spirit, then through situations and clearly through Hos word, the bible.  Do you hear His counsel today?? Like a loving father would speak to his loving son.

If so, call on GOD today,
Rev Dan

The House of the LORD and you

The House of the LORD and you

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. Psalms 27:4

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalms 23:6
The Old Testament Patriarch, David, King David of Israel, gives us great insight to GOD's house, as seen in the Book of Psalms chapter's 23 and 27. It actually shows us how close He was to GOD. David wanted to end up at the end of his life in GOD's house, meaning heaven. David had learn so much from the tent or tabernalce of GOD. It's inside brightness, inside beauty and insight blessings, and if this was GOD's earthly house, how much more bright and beautiful would it be in GOD's actual house in Heaven.

The LORD JESUS gave us great insight on GOD"s House too, see John 14

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions (rooms): if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3
A prepared place for ALL who belive in JESUS. Also, a promised place for us and provided place to take us to someday.
But Jesus used the house in another way. Notice in the book of the Revelation Chapter 3 verse 20.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup (dine) with him, and he with me. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 3:20-21
Jesus, who is "the way", as seen John 14:6, is standing next to a door of a house knocking wanting in.  For when JESUS knocks on your heart's door and YOU let Him in, He becomes the way, and your way to Heaven. So, I pray, received JESUS into your heart house today.
So JESUS knocks on our house's door to enter in, then, at the end of our life, because we let Him in, we may enter His house, GOD's house in heaven.
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalms 23:6
My friend, do you know where YOU will spend eternity, Life after death ??  You can know by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart and life. Just believe in and call on Him today.
May GOD bless you,
Rev Dan

one thing - part 4

One thing - Part 4 (and last in this lesson)

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:  But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10 verses 42-43
Our LORD JESUS, the son of GOD, Prophet of the past, Priest of our present and our soon coming King. The resurrected one and intercessor of us, the believers. He shares one His "one thing" in as Dr. Luke records this in Luke chapter 10.  We see an appreciation for the now.
The bible says in the Old Testament writing. "seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near".   Mary was sitting at the feet of the Master, at Jesus' feet and hearing the wonderful words of life. Mary and Martha received Jesus into their home. The word "received" means, "to take one into your home".  There was no doubt in their decision, they received JESUS for who he was and for what He is, our LORD and Savior.  And you may too.

Martha was "cumbered" loaded down with things to do with the events for the evening as she tried to be a good host for Jesus and his disciples.  But something distracted Martha, her sister, Mary.  She saw her sitting at the feet of Jesus.

Martha saw a physical distraction with her sister, no activity for the task at hand.  Physical distraction a has caused many to miss the LORD, but not Mary, she chose "one thing" that good part with the LORD, which would pay great spiritual dividends in her life and the future. Then Martha had a mental distraction.  She thought moving and activity was the best thing but not so, it was the need to be with Jesus that was far more important.

Then Jesus showed Martha her a spiritual correction. "That good part", that "one thing", the word "chosen", means "to pick out, select," it means, "to choose for oneself"  not for an immediate physical task but for a great spiritual truth for the future and that was hearing the words of JESUS. And, my friend you should hear Him too.

So we must conclude this lesson on "one thing"

David's "one thing" was to seek GOD,  the Apostle Paul's "one thing",was forgetting the present earthly gains, the Apostle Peter's "one thing" was understanding how GOD's time works in the future, and our LORD JESUS' "one thing" was to draw from Jesus while He is near.

Jesus also told the young rich ruler, you lack "one thing" as He trusted in his earthly gain. See Mark 10, Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

Well friend, it's very obvious what you need to do, and it's turning to JESUS, this "one thing"

May GOD bless you, as YOU believe on Him and call on His name, Jesus, this "one thing"

"one thing" - Part 3

Part 3 - "one thing" -

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Second Peter 3

Thirdly, we see The Apostle Peter, a fisherman, follower of Christ becomes a disciple, then leader of the Twelve disciples, their spokesman, also part of the Inner-three of disciples, shares his "one thing" in Second Peter Chapter 3.
(Peter was giving understanding admitting about the future)
The last days was on the heart and minds of the disciples. Here, the Apostle Peter, in his second book and in the last chapter wanted to bring it to the minds of the readers and hearers of this last letter.
A human quality is to be impatient, we see it on our day and he saw it in his day.  It had been 60 plus years since Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension. And Jesus gave them the promise that He would come back again. Perhaps in Peter's life time.  But as the LORD tarried His coming, Peter wanted to make, "one thing" very clear.  It was about the future and his return is NOT on our time schedule. The future takes much time to happen.
Peter showed the readers how GOD's time and time line works, see verses 5 and 6. the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed , He gave his readers examples and numbers, a thousand years as one day. And with this thought, the LORD is NOT willing that any should perish, BUT ALL should come to repentence. (what a mighty and gracious GOD we serve, and I say Amen !!
So the Apostle Peter's, "one thing"  The LORD is long suffering and able to give them a way out. And May I say, Amen, salvation is full of grace and free to all who would believe !!
So, dear friend, please call on Him today, call on Jesus Christ, believe and ask to be saved.
May God bless you,
Rev Dan

"One thing", part 2

"One thing", part 2

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Phil 3:13-14, Here Paul is forgetting the past, looking to Jesus (apprehending)
Secondly, we see The Apostle Paul, who was the mean unsaved Saul, who became a High leader with of the religious Pharisees, he was a big brute to the early Christian church, but then became blind when he saw the LORD Jesus on the Damascus road and then became a blessing to the early church, visiting them on his mission trips, leading many to Jesus and wrote many letters to them. Paul shares his "one thing" in this letter / book when he wrote to the Philippines in chapter 3.
Turning from his evil past with his sight on the LORD JESUS CHRIST. It made a new man out of him.
The Apostle Paul's, "one thing" was Jesus Christ. Notice his decision, "forgetting those things which are behind".  He could say, "what I did on this earth for myself shall pass, but, what I do for JESUS shall last.
Then, we see, his Direction was in light and in sight of JESUS. He said, "I'm reaching and pressing toward the mark".  No climbing up the religious ladder of his day. There was nothing to prove to fellow religious members. It was all about Jesus, as he mentioned in Romans Chapter Twelve, to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
So Paul's, "one thing" involved the decision, direction and duty for the calling in Christ Jesus. When Jesus spoke to Paul, while on the Damascus road, it put a call of duty into his life that he would never forget.  And you may have that too.
Paul's one thing may become your one thing, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  You are reading of a religious lost man, Paul, who was gloriously saved by Jesus Christ, why not call on Him today??
Trust in the LORD today, and see part 3 next time.
May GOD bless you,
Rev Dan

One thing - part 1

One thing - part 1

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. Psalms 27, we see an attention to God and his house

David the Old Testament Patriarch, David, a shepherd boy to King of Israel.  he went from the Shepard's pasture to serving in the King's palace, but he knew GOD and followed Him. David shares with "one thing" in one of his Psalms Chapter 27.

For David, it was personal, I desire, I will seek, I may dwell. He own this thought.

GOD was with him as he was a Shepherd, a boy, also through out his life, GOD showed him His ways, taught him His paths and led him in His truths, see Psalms 25

But then, that one thing became his purpose, "that will I seek after",  the word "seek", means to strive after:—ask, beg, beseech, desire, enquire, get, make inquisition.  It became that personal purpose. And my friend you may have this too with GOD.

David's desiring and seeking GOD became his plan for life. He said, "that I may dwell in the house of the LORD"

David knew about GOD's tent with Israel in their wilderness journey, which really spoke of the temple and tabernacle. But David plan was to dwell in GOD's house, which is Heaven. He mentioned this in Psalms 23:6, "that I may dwell in the house of the LORD for ever". To spend time and eternity with GOD and I say "Amen !!"

You see, in Psalms 23 David talks about a life journey through a valley, then through a field and stream, and then most excitedly to GOD's house in heaven, in Glory, our glory land.

David's "one thing" became his personal purpose and plan, to go to heaven and spend eternity with GOD. And YOU may too.

There are many things in this life, but David's, "one thing", was to choose GOD. I pray that you will and that you will go to heaven.

May God Bless you,
Rev. Dan

One thing - intro

"one thing" series introduction,

The phrase "one thing", carries importance and understanding. This is my thought and the way I would like to expand upon it.  I found this phrase while studying Luke 10, as Jesus was ministering to Martha, many of you may know the story. But I found Jesus was not the only one to use this phrase.

Notice:
David's one thing, see Psalms 27 verse 4, (King David)
Paul's one thing, see Philippines 3 verse13, ( The Apostle Paul)
Peter's one thing, see 2 Peter 3 verse 8, ( The Apostle Peter)
Jesus' one thing, see Luke 10 verse 42, (Our LORD)
First, we see the Old Testament Patriarch , David, a shepherd boy became King of Israel,  he went from the Shepard's pasture to the King's palace, but he knew GOD and followed Him. David shares with us "one thing", in one of his Psalms Chapter 27.

Secondly, we see The Apostle Paul, who was Saul, the High leader with the Pharisees, a brute to early church, he became blind when he saw Jesus on the Damascus road and then was blessing to the early church. Paul shares his "one thing", in the letter / book that he wrote to the Philippines in chapter 3.

Thirdly, we see The Apostle Peter, a fisherman, follower of Christ, leader of the Twelve disciples, also part of the Inner-three of disciples, he shares his "one thing", in Second Peter Chapter 3.

And then, Our LORD JESUS, a Prophet in our past, a Priest of our present time and our soon coming King in the future. He's resurrected one and intercessor of us, the believers. He shares His "one things, as Luke records this in Luke chapter 10.

As we go through these biblical, "one things", I hope it will be spiritually understood and that you will see the importance of each, one thing.
Personally, my "one thing", is for YOU to be saved, born again, become a child of GOD. Accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and Savior, believe in Him and call on Him, today.

May God bless you,

Rev Dan

Seeking Jesus Christ

Seeking the LORD JESUS CHRIST

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. John 12:20-21
When seeking Jesus Christ;

First you are seeking a Child which was born of the virgin Mary.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
see Matthew 1:21-23

Second, you seek one who was baptized.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. see John 1:29-31

Thirdly, you seek a prophet, teacher and healer.

Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. see John 3:1-2

Fourthly, you seek the crucified one.

24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, The King Of The Jews. 27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. see Mark15:24-27
Fifthly, you seek the resurrected one.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: see 1 Cor 15:3-6
Sixthly, you seek the interceding one.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. see Hebrews 12:2

Seventhly, you seek our soon coming King.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. see Acts 9-11
Dear Friend, are you seeking Jesus Christ today ??

If so, you should call on HIM today, while He is near.  Jesus is waiting to hear from you today. So call, pray to Him and He has promised to hear you.

May GOD bless you,
Rev Dan
