Good Friday and some good things

This blog post today has words from a song "He did it all for me"   This is what's on my heart and mind today.

Once a man, whom we know as the son of God, Hung upon a cruel tree,
He suffered pain as not mortal man, He took my place, He did it all for me.

He did it all for me, each drop of blood,  He shed for me, when the Savior cried, then he bowed his head and died, Oh Praise the Lord, He did it all for me,

When I step, just in side the Gates  of  Pearl, and the Master's face I see, I will gladly kneel at His nail scared feet, Oh Praise the Lord, He did it ALL for me !!

He did it all for me, each drop of blood,  He shed for me, when the Savior cried, then he bowed his head and died, Oh Praise the Lord, He did it all for me.

Oh praise the Lord, I remembered that song from my home church and the many times we sung it at my first church where I was pastor.  On this Good Friday, I am remembering some good things from the past.  I remember this song and a sermon title that said "It's Friday, but Sunday is Coming !!"   Meaning although Jesus died when He was Crucified on the cross, He will arise and live again, come Sunday, resurrection morning.

Also, I love the story picture of our baptism. As we are buried with Him (totally emerged) in baptism, then raised to walk in newness of life.  Buried with Him and then raised to walk. PTL !!  (of course, we are baptized after we are saved)  :-)

On this Holy Week, as we remember the last supper (the Lord's supper for us today) then His betrayal, His crucifixion, buried three days/three nights and then His Glorious Resurrection, on Sunday, the first day of the week,  truly we can say that He did it ALL for me and for you, for us !!

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1Cor. 15:1-3

But dear friend, knowing that HE did it ALL for you, won't you be saved ?? won't you be born again ?? For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For with the heart man believes and with mouth confession is made. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through our risen savior, Jesus Christ our Lord.

God Bless you, Have a great day, just a great day :-D

The value of prayer

Will post this blog while it's on my mind, :-)

Matthew 7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I am glad that I know the value prayer. I know and I have experienced it. I have seen and heard God Answering prayer.

Praying is not automatic meaning God will answer in a yes, no and wait, and "wait" is not a no.

Prayer is not entitlement, BUT  it is part of it, the fact we are a child of God, He blesses His children but according to His will.

Prayer is not a blank check meaning  give me, give me, give me so I can get gain.  Although He gives to you and  you get,  it's in order that YOU may give in order to give again to get again . . .

Prayer is definitely a balance thing. It's a door that  hinges on according to His will.  Many a blank check, entitlement, give me, give me christian writer will disagree, but they are trying to sell books and get appointments. Positive words in order for you to gain will always sell. SO if you read their books or hear them, balance it, balance it in light of God's word. Matthew 6:30 says But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Prayer time was a big part of the Lord Jesus life and ministry, shouldn't it be a big part of our life.

But dear friend, salvation comes before relationship, and you must be born again. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

Call on the name of the Lord, and be save. Call on Him while He is near.

God Bless you,

Planting God's way

Pslams 126
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

The Bible speaks of sowing (planting) in many places. It teaches us about agriculture in it's words and ways. The Lord Jesus used farming / planting words in parables and teaching lessons.  The other day, my family worked in the yard, and cleaned out our raised beds with the purpose of planting some veggies this spring (many of us in the south, like to plant on Good Friday or that week weekend).   We will plant tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and bale peppers.  (my mouth waters just thinking about it on my table for supper).

But before we could plant, there must be preparation of the grounds / dirt.  We had weeds, we had leaves and it had all types of yard debris. Not glamorous job, but it's needed work to be done.   As I raked the leaves and pull the weeds, the ground began to break up. I took my garden hoe and cleaned out the weeds and tilled the ground.  WOW, it look so clean when done,. The ground was broken up and loose. It was ready for the seeds to be planted and ready for the plant to be planted.

During this time of ground work and garden preparation, God started to speak to my heart and mind.

Many will try to plant a church but without preparations !! And I believe the practical application fits here today.  One know, it's so thrilling and so exciting to plant a church or even plant many churches, but many do not want to do the prep work, the dirty work, to prepare the ground and that's the most important thing.

Jesus said a sower went out to sow his seed. But it was only the ones that fell on good ground, that had depth was the ones that came up.God help us to plant on good ground. See text in the Bible in the New Testament chapters in Matthew 13, Mark 4 and Luke 8, just ti name a few. :-)

But dear friend, salvation comes before service, the call of salvation is come today.  God wants to save you before He can use you. For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For whosoever shall on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God Bless you Friend,

The prayers of a friend

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Many years ago, my wife was unsatisfied with her job situation and was looking and hoping for another.  At the time jobs where scarce and you needed to hang on to the one you had at the time. This was her situation.  We were attending a small church where one of my preacher friend was pastoring and they had been friends of the family for years.  My preacher friend's wife sang at our wedding and she and my wife had been in contact with each other for years. And she knew the value of prayer.

Well, my wife had shared with her, as she was a long time friend, how that she would like to get another job.  Then it was made known that a job in the county school system was open and they prayed about it together.  My wife went to the interview and it involed a test.  She thought that the interview went well but she thought that she did bad on the test. Well, we prayed and my wife's friend prayed and my wife got the job. PTL !!

Then we needed another car.  Our mini-van just had to many miles on it and it was costing us a lot of money, as it needed many repairs. Well, we prayed. My wife shared it with her friend.  She prayed. And she got a burden about it, and ask God to allow us a have a good car to drive to work and to church.  Then low and behold, as we went to the car dealership that day we got the new car. I say PTL !!

She prayed for a job and a car for us.  It has never happened again, as of yet. But it could possibly happen again.  When God heard  the prayers of a friend.

Dear friend, I know the value of prayer, and prayer does changes things.  In the bible in the New testament, one thing that got the disciples of Jesus attention, was His prayer time. If the Lord Jesus prayed when He was on earth, how much more do we need to pray ??

At my first church, my song leader would sing the song "Love lifted me" well on the last chorus, he always liked changing the words to "prayer changes things"  so we would sing the words "prayer changes things" to the tune of "Love lifted me", it does work and fits, you must try it sometimes.

But with prayer, you must be born again, God, the Heavenly Father, is waiting to hear your salvation prayer first. Then after He saves you, He will answer as a father does his children.  So call on Him today. For whosoever shall on the name of the Lord shall be saved !!

God Bless you friend,

Hope that we have learned

Romans 15:4

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Somethings that we have learned that gives us HOPE:

- Ours sins are forgiven
Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

- We are children of God
1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

- Heaven is our Home

John 14

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also

- Jesus rose from the Dead
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Cor 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

- The Blessed Hope

Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
God Bless you Friend, for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord SHALL be saved !!
Call of HIM today.

(just saying) AMEN, PRAISE THE LORD, HALLELUJAH !!

My shirt and tie and my Ford Pickup

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The dress shirt and tie in my Ford Pickup
A few weeks ago, we had a very busy Saturday.  A busy Saturday means troubles for us on Sunday.  We left the house at 9 AM that morning and return at 10 PM that night. And I know that we are not young spring chickens anymore, but we were really tried from the day's events with our family and friends. Then wife woke up with back pain and was unable to go to church. My son stepped up and said Dad I'll stay at home and will take care of Mom. I said that's fine. So I got ready put on my shirt and tie  then got into my Ford pickup truck and went to church.
The first person I meant in my subdivision was a man walking his dog. We made eye contact and I waved at him. He saw me with my shirt & tie in my Ford pickup truck.  I drove to the end of the road a saw a Spanish looking man at  the entrance of the of the subdivision and I nodded my head and he saw me in my shirt & tie and in my Ford pickup truck.
I turned out onto the street to go to the main road and came to the red light.  There I saw a young couple in their jeep, shorts & tee shirts and me in my shirt & tie and in my Ford pickup truck. The light change and they took off with a glance over at me.
I turned on the main road to go to the four lane, as it is the faster way to church.  Many people where out and about that day, I saw a some people just going and I saw a couple of people dress for church as I was, going to church.  As the cars went by they saw me in my shirt & tie in my Ford Pickup truck.
The verse, Matt. 5:16, says to let your light so shine before men.  I thought that day, that Sunday, I really did and in a way glorified the Father. I think the world and the unsaved need to see Christians doing good works for the Lord.  They need to see us helping others, praying at a meals, reading our bible and wearing our Sunday best for church.  I would like to think I was being a living and walking testimony that day for all who saw me that day in my shirt & tie in my Ford pickup truck.  :-)
Of course, the bible teaches us that salvation, being saved,  is NOT of works, lest any man should boast. We cannot work our way into heaven, we must first be saved and accept the Lord Jesus Christ into our life and into our heart.  In the book of Romans says for whosever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus is calling and the Holy Spirit is speaking to you.
God bless you friend, this blog is not about wearing the right clothes, but a living testimony for what God has done in my life.  Call on Him today and He will save you.
Because He lives,
