The correct way

Well, I’m on a roll here, messages and thoughts are coming fast today and this is my second thought / blog post of the day.  God bless you, thanks for your viewing today!!

Once again, while traveling to work in my Ford F150 pickup truck, after I dropped off my son at his work, I came upon a very busy intersection.  Many people were trying to turn onto the interstate and go south bound towards Atlanta.  Well, the turn was backed up with a lot of cars and many of the commuters will go to the next light, make a U turn and enter the interstate from the other direction.  I have seen this from time to time, most of the time I blew it off, because it did not involve me, and I thought to each his own, but then the Lord spoke to my mind and heart.

To be honest, I could write about being in a hurry and not waiting, but I want to go in a different thought here.  Doing the correct thing is my thought here. While being innovative in car travel may be a good thing, the practical lesson is notable, there’s one way to go, as it is with salvation that is of the Lord. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me.”   Some will try their own way and make U turns in their car travels, but when we are talking about coming God and getting into Heaven there’s only one way.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

My friend, don't try short cuts, U turns or your own energy,  you can call on Him today!! While He is near, He will hear you!!  He will hear your prayer for salvation; why not call on Him today.

God Bless you Friend,
RevDanSam

God's Light on YOU

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

The other day, as I was taking my son to work in my Ford pickup truck.  We went down the road in my sub-division to the main road. Well, I thought my wind-shield was clean and transparent until, the SUN light shined on  it and it exposed all the blemishes, then GOD spoke to my mind and heart.

We live in this world and we think everything is all right spiritually in our life. Our walk, our words, our ways and our wisdom, are so transparent and nothing is seen, no blemishes and no wrongs. Until we put the light of His Word in our life and then it exposes all. All the mental, emotional and physical things that are in our life.  There is such a push these days to accept secular "self helps" and not turn to the bible to show you the way.

It very interesting and I want to be careful here, as I write this blog, but the brightest room in our home will be the bath room. For there, we need light to correct our appearances and groom ourselves. The make up table, it will have many light for the actors / people who present themselves on TV and the public.  So if we need light to correct our outward look, how much more should we use the light of His word to correct us spiritually.

The scriptures says God is light and His words, ways and wisdom shall direct our lives, not the wisdom of this world !!  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; Yes, we need the mirror with a great light, let us the Light of His word shine on us !!  Then it will be obvious what needs to be changed / corrected.

But first Friend, have you seen the LIGHT ??  The song of many years age says, "I saw the light !!" no more in darkness, no more night. Praise the Lord !! I saw the Light !!  And you can too my friend, call on the name of the Lord and be saved, accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, for whosoever shall call on the name of Lord shall be saved, for your heart man believes and with your mouth confession is made unto salvation, ye must be born again !!

Come, just as you are, unto the LORD !!

God Bless you friend, in the Lord and in HIS light !!

The Christian Friend

The Christian Friend

First, I must identify "the christian friend " I am talking about the praying / church going friend.  Jesus said there would be those who calls His name but He never knew them, but that's another blog someday. :-)

The secular world and carnal Christians will need a christian friend someday. And I was just thinking about it this morning.  I remembered some friends of mine who worked at the automobile plant in Atlanta, at one time there was two.  But many of the men  professed to be Christians and worked among the other workers. I heard of them having prayer times at their break time  and devotionals at lunch time, even a little worship service with guitars and music.

But they would sing, preach and pray at work. BUT then, came the scoffers. Many non church goers and non believers would make fun and joke at the Christians. Until sadness and tragedy came into their lives. Then all of sudden the Christians became relevant !!  And If I have heard it once, I heard it at least three or four times.  The regular automotive worker would go to the Christian and ask for prayer.

I say this and write this in humility, no brag, just facts. They were glad to be there and to be able to say a prayer for their co-workers.  In my life time, I have said a prayer for my co-workers and was glad to be able to do it. The world may scorn and make fun of us, but I am glad to be a Christian friend.

God Bless you,

What are you seeking

As I was going to work on a Wednesday morning, the Good Lord brought this scripture to my heart and mind through a song.  In the bible, in the New Testament, the book of John chapter 4, the woman at the well.

Like the woman at the well, are you seeking ??  If so, the bible bible says on call on the Lord. Many people are looking and searching as nothing of this world satisfies. Yet the in that book of wisdom, Proverbs, particularly Chapter 3 verse 5-6 says,
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Is this what you need dear friend ?? Don't rely on your own wisdom, seek God, while He may be found, while He has your attention.

The Spirit and the Bride says come, Jesus says "come" cone unto Him. There's an open invitation to all. The says it best in the Book of the Revelation Chapter 22 verse 17

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Call on God today, for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved !!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His [e]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

God bless you and have a great DAY in the Lord !!

The Little Fisherman

One of my favorite New Testament bible character is the Apostle Andrew.  He is the brother to Apostle Peter.  Although Peter is mentioned first in all Apostles name list, (see Matt.10, Mark 3, Luke 6 and Acts 1) Andrew was the first disciple of Christ. He was the first to believe in Jesus Christ the Messiah.  And may I say, the Messiah of the Old Testament is the Christ of the New Testament.

But I enjoy studying Andrew the first disciple. One writer said the two brothers Andrew and Peter, were opposites.  Where Peter was loud and emotional, Andrew worked quietly for the Lord.  Peter led while Andrew followed. They were different in character and actions but the Lord used both of them and in a mighty way.

Andrew is called the " introducer" and he brought many to Jesus. His pattern was to bring one by one to Christ. What a great soul winning example and lesson for us today. How many of you remember the old saying "Each one reach one"  Oh, how this would work today.  And yet in doing the little things, he won a big fisherman,  his brother Peter.  Jesus said I'll make you fisherman, .... fishers of men, literally catchers of men.  So Peter became the big fisherman as won 3000 with one sermon and did other great things for the Lord and Andrew was the little fisherman, winning by by one, but he won the big fisherman, his brother Peter. So Peter preached publicly but Andrew labored privately, the little fisherman landed the big fisherman.

What we do in this world will past, but what we do for Christ will last.  Little is much if God is in it.  The dollar you give for missions, the prayer you pray, my Lord keeps a record and will show up big in heaven one day.

But first my friend, the first thing you should do call on the name of the Lord and be saved, For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for with the heart man believes and with moth confession is made, you must be born again.  Only trust Him only trust Him, only trust Him now !!

God Bless you friend and have a great day !!

Not of yourself

I was reading an article by a successful secular salesman the other day, and he was passing on what he had learned in his business to the next generation. He said " no one gets to the top by yourself "   He had learned that from his mentor and he was passing it on to others. Then God spoke to my heart and mind.

Many think they have arrived in their Christianity, while others fall at the first bad turn.  In either case, you will not make it by yourself, it takes the Lord.  In New Testament, the book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul wrote "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. "

Notice the key phrase " not of yourself" It's a work of God.  For God will use the Holy Spirit, scriptures and situations to make you what He wants you to be and that is, conformed to the image of his dear son, JESUS!!

With the world system, our fleshly ways and the devil against us, we need God's help. For He will lead, guide and direct you. And if we reach any spiritual top it will be with His help. Many times I have to remind myself of this, perhaps, you need it too.

But Dear friend, all of this starts with salvation, which is of the Lord. When call on Him to save you and to accept His dear son as your personal Lord and Savior, then He can do a work in you.  Want you call on Him today.
"that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Rom10:9-10

God Bless you friend, have a great day in the Lord !!

Do You Hear Him ??

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

I heard this verse quoted today, and God spoke to my heart and mind. The verse in Rev. 3:20, first says, "Behold" or take notice, Jesus is knocking on you heart's door through the Holy Spirit. The third part of the trinity, as He speaks in that still small voice to you heart and mind.
Not only does he knock on your heart's door through Holy Spirit, but through the scriptures too.  The bible, being God's words, He speaks but are you hearing?? In many places in the bible, there's an invitation extended to you to "come" either in the Old Testament Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together,”Says the Lord,Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson,They will be like wool.
Or in Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all [z]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
And Rev. 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.”

And the Lord knocks on your heart's door through situations.  If you do not go to church, nor read the bible, God has a way to get your attention through many situations.  All that we have to do is trust in Him and He shall direct our path. He may use a little bird or the breeze of the wind in the trees, as He's knocking on your heart's door.

So keep your eyes and especially your ears open to hear from God.

Of course, the first call will be for salvation, "ye must be born again", for whosoever shall on the name of the Lord, after His Knocking, shall be saved.

God Bless you friend, we will work until Jesus comes.
