How did you find this place

How did you find this place??

A few years ago my nephew, Rev. Michael Samples, answered the call of God to be a Missionary / Church Planter.  After the call, He sought God as to the area where should he go. For him, God spoke and showed him the place, Belleville, Kansas.

Service for God can be a process.  Meaning, hearing the call, accepting the call and then asking God what would He have you have to do or in this case, where do you want me to go.  After much prayer and many visits too many areas, God showed Him the city Belleville. So they loaded up the truck moved to Belleville. Where they started and have a great work for the Lord.

My brother and sister in-law has made several trips there, since their son’s family moved there. And one of the most interesting question they get from the local people and local pastors is “How did you find this place” And it seems like almost a letdown and unbelief when my nephew tells them “God brought me here”, God showed me this place.

Well, allowing God to direct you and use you is such a foreign thing, too many and even among believers. But really, it’s the way God works.  God works in a process of time. Many think it’s a one stop thing. Where he calls you to salvation then service and shows you where to service Him, all at once. But God works in mysterious ways and ways that are different to our ways, but is understandable to us. As we pray and read the scriptures His words and ways come together. And it always will.

The problem is we ourselves. Either we get head of God and do not honestly listen to Him. And we do things not according to His will. In the bible, Solomon wrote in Proverbs Chapter 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, verse says in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct they path”.

Preacher, how did you find this place, well, God told him and showed him. The bible says in Psalms 25:4-5 Show me they ways, O Lord, tech me they paths, Lead me in thy truth, teach me for thou art the God of my salvation.

Dear friend God wants to show you, teach you and lead you, but first, you must be saved, born again, for with the heart man believes and with mouth confession is made unto salvation, for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

May God bless you and keep you,

Religon, relative logic & His revelation

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Rom1:16-17

Hello blog followers, these verses were brought to my attention by the Lord this week, and they moved on my heart and mind.  Frist, I want to point the greatness of the word of God, especially.  I suppose there could have been two other groups the Apostle could have mentioned here, but he specifically said the Jews and the Greeks.  Of course, I do not it was it very a trivial thing as God had a personal and practical application here too.  It was directed to the Jews first, the religionist of the day and relevant thinkers of the day.

I am sure Paul was addressing one of the main religions of the day. For many were saying you had to keep the law and have animal sacrifice to atone for your sins. While the Greeks questioned relevance of it all, much like we do today in this day and time.  We see nearly the same thing today with different denominations and groups, many attacking God’s truth and yet Paul use the gospel in attack mode to challenge the religionist and relative thinkers / logic of the day.

So you have the religionist of the day, then and now, yet they try to challenge the Gospel of the Lord Christ Jesus. And we have to say it’s by grace through faith.

Then we have the relative thinker of logic of the day, then and now. Which challenge the Gospel of the Jesus Christ?  And they it cannot be grace alone and the Apostle Paul would answer with what he told the Ephesians “ not of works, lest any man would boast.  It is the gift of God.

So it’s a great thing what God did here in this portion of the scriptures to deal with and challenge the two great thoughts and ideas of that day and of which we can use now.

Then notice the great revelation, of God, “therein is the righteousness of God” the Gospel of Jesus Christ is how you gain the righteousness of God.  For a person who has been saved and has accepted the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, this makes me very happy and full of joy. You see, I did this, I accepted Christ, although I did not understand it all at the time, I accepted it by faith and as I look back on it I am thankful I did, and as I read the scriptures, particularly this portion of Romans 1:16-17, I am so GLAD!!

But dear friend, you too can become glad, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and you will see how your decision and life is aligned with God.  For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for with the heart men believes and with mouth confession is made unto salvation, Please call on Him, on Jesus today and He will save you.

God Bless you ALL,

Me and the storm

Me and the Storm

There is a saying that says either we are going into a storm, in a storm or just leaving a storm.  I have heard that statement for years my life time.  While going to work one morning in my Ford F150 pickup and several storms had come through our area in North Georgia, I grabbed for an older CD that I had of a Gospel quartet from many years ago.  Usually, on a Friday mornings I like oldies and upbeat music to enjoy the day, well, because it’s FRIDAY.  But my heart and spirit was not satisfied with that. I just did not want it.  So first song played and it was good, and then second song, “Between me and the storm” And God started talking to my heart and mind.

As mentioned, we are either about to enter in a storm, in the middle or leaving a storm.  As I thought about this in my mind, fear came across me, and I asked Dear God, what is about to happen to me?? I am so happy with you this morning, are you preparing me for a big storm a head??  I said, if so, oh God, please prepare me, show me and help me.
Then, I thought, well maybe I am in midst of a big storm and don’t even realize it, perhaps I am sinking and don’t even know it.  I said Oh God, help me not to sink down, let me walk on the waters with you.

And then, maybe I am leaving the storm and it feels good to feel your closeness and your touch in my heart, which brings joy in my heart with happy tears in my life today. And I say, Thank you Lord for your blessings on me on this day and this morning.
You know, I did not go looking for a great filling of God, it just happened. I could not turn it turn on neither could I control it, it just happened and in a time of about twenty minutes.  As I yielded to Him and He filled me!!

This has happened to me before and at other times.  I would be minding my own business, such as my own self and secular things and then God shows up and speaks to my heart and mind.  May I say it’s always been good, the peace and joy that flows to me is like talking to an old friend as we share together some familiar thoughts and reminisce past things.

Of course, this type of relationship comes from many, many years of relations with God as I served Him and had fellowship with Him in prayer and bible study.  But, you too may have that relationship with God, you must be born again.  You must be saved and become a child of God.  For with the heart man believes and with mouth confession is made, for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God bless you friend, please call on Him today.
