Colonial Christmas

Colonial Christmas

It has been well documented our founding Fathers with the 13 Colonies brought the celebration of Christmas with them and established it. Christmas in before 1776 was celebrated differently when compared to what we do now, but the declarations and meals was the very similar.

The declarations consisted of a tree, ornaments hung with a top star, the greenery hung and the food prepared for the Christmas meal.   All was done in celebration of Christmas, the season and the day.

The Christian Colonist brought and recognized the celebration of our dear Savior's birth in the New land of America. The Colonist had Christmas customs and Christmas foods, also designated time to celebrate.

So then as now, "JESUS-IS-THE-REASON-FOR-THE-SEASON" and to take Christ out of Christmas (Xmas) means no Christmas.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men LUKE 2:8-14

And after you hear and received God's word and message about Jesus Christ, whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For with the heart man believes and with moth confession is made unto salvation.
