Three simple rules

I saw this on social media and I want to do comparison with God's word.
Three Simple Rules in Life
1. If you do not GO after what you want, you’ll never have it.
The bible says I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me
.
2. If you do not ask, the answer will always be no.
The bible says yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, let your requests be made known to God
3. If you do not step forward, you’ll always be in the same place.
The bible says The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

I saw this on a social media site and it is not my intent to be negative but just to compare these thoughts with God’s word.

Trust in the Lord will all your heart and call on Him today.
God bless you friend,

# Jesus a refugee??

Was Jesus a refugee??

This statement, “Jesus was a refugee” came up this week in defense for whether the states should accept the Syrian refugees.   And I wish expound on this statement even though an equal peer, an ordained minister of her denomination, declared it on social media, (the Wesley Brothers probably would not have approved, this description shows you what I am trying to say here)

Our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, left His splendor in heaven, to become a missionary for God the Father.  Luke’s Gospel declares, “ And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. His mission.

John said He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. His Motive.

And John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. His mandate.

Doesn’t sound like a refugee to me? If any anything He came to be our refuge. And this I rejoice and will rejoice, Praise the Lord!!

Dear friend, call on Him today, while He is near. Turn ye unto God and He will turn unto you.

God Bless you,
Rev. Dan

Iron sharpens iron

Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

As you go through life, many times, and for some Christians, bible verses will return back to your mind as this one did for me and as usual God started speaking to my heart and mind . . . .

There's the physical or natural lesson here that's worth quoting and expanding.  I remember many times chefs and butchers sharping their knives by taking two knives and sharpening them together, a knife in one hand and another knife in the other.  Hearing the sound of the two metal hit each other, literally sharpening themselves and the two edges side against each other. Then the knife could  perform a great function, cutting meat or vegetables. As iron sharpens iron.

Well, a similar lesson is for Christians today.  As you see a child of God, praying, reading their bible, preaching and serving the Lord, if you are "dull" in this matter, seeing another will sharpen your life for a function for Christ.  Many leaders lead by example and they become that sharpening point for other to use. So as we see others doing God's will it will make you want to do the same for God in your life. (If you really have it??) #saved

Many of us were taught not to look to man, as he is fallible, but Jesus was in infallible.  The bible says "Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, And this is very valid and needed. But I think looking to a true minister of God, a true follower of God can help to sharpen us up spiritually too.  God showed me three things. First, iron sharpens iron correct us. If anything is wrong or out of alignment in our life, looking to a true believer and a follower of God can correct this. It could be in our mind, mission and or manner of life. This can help to correct us. Secondly, iron on iron can comfort us.  As a mile post helps in our direction, so too, can a fellow believer in Christ can comfort us that we are going in the right direction and course. If one does not know his or her direction it can lead to doubt and confusion, iron on iron help us and comfort us that we are going in the right direction. And thirdly, it remind us of our call. One of the Apostle Paul's young converts, quit and forsook Paul having Loved this present world. (see NT character Demas) if he had done a little sharpening iron on iron with a true fellow Believer, perhaps he would have stayed with the Apostle Paul and continued in their missionary trip, but instead he departed to a wicked  and wealthy city,
For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica 2Tim 4:10

And so friend, iron sharpening iron correct us in our ways, comfort us in our work and reminds us of our God given call that came into our life from His words. PTL !! A-men!!

Are you saved, are you born again ?? For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for with heart man believes and with mouth confession is made.

God bless you, have a Great day!!

3 R help prayer

The three Rs help prayer

I want to expand this thought as God is moving on my heart and mind.  When I was growing up as a child in elementary school, we were taught the "THREE Rs" of education.  Reading, writing and arithmetic (math). Notice the letter "R" in each word, R in reading, R in writing and R in arithmetic, math. And this would cover all aspects of your needed education.

God is leading me in another direction with this thought, meaning the Three Rs help prayer.

Now God is the God of help. The bible says in Psalms 121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

And since God wants to HELP you, why not pray specifically for Help in three ways.  First, ask God to help you with your reading.  Obviously, we need to read our bible, but in today's time, we read emails, text, pages from screens from electronic devices not to mentioned papers and books.  As we read, we are gathering or collecting information or data.  And God can help you with this.  There are so much informational data that we need to learn and God can help us. So part #1 of three part help prayer help us with our reading. Then #2 is writing and this hiw we communicate. We write by typing or handwriting, or some still do, as we express ourselves communicating  things that we have leaned or need to know.  But writing is communicating and God help us with this.  As we learn letters and letters form words, then we communicate.  Even if we write it in our mind, then we verbally sound / speak it out. So we pray, God help us with our writing. Then #3, the third "R" is Arithmetic or math. As we ask God to help us calculate the given data or information.  Calculating help us figure things out. The Apostle Paul said in Phil. 3 - But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss [c]in view of the surpassing value of [d]knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, [e]for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ.
Paul did his math, arithmetic, counted earthly gain things for loss and yet, what he did for Christ as gain.  God help us with our arithmetic, math, to calculate things properly. God can help us with this.

So this is the Three R help prayer, to ask God to help us in our Reading, collecting data, writing, communicating data and arithmetic, calculating data.  This prayer can help you everyday and every way on your job or work. If you only believe.

But my friend for sure, when praying unto God, he wants to hear you pray for salvation first, for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Seek first the kingdom of God, For Jesus, the son of God, God in the flesh, in human form came to this earth, to seek and to saved that which was lost. So call on Him today.

And christian friend, use the three R prayer for help.

God Bless you,

Rev. Dan

A Bad Boy

Lou Costello was part of the comical team “Abbott and Costello” years ago in the 1950s.  They are best known for their baseball comic skit “Who’s on first”  But Lou, wanted to be boxer in his early days but his parents did not want to pursue it.  He was caught fighting at school and his teacher made him write on the Chalk board, “I am a Bad boy” over 100 times.

Well, Lou pursed the boxing fight behind his parent's back and he won many fights.  He used another name to hide his identity so that his parents would not find out.  Until a big fight came to town for Lou and Lou’s uncle invited his Dad to see the fight.  Lou’s Dad did not recognize the name and did not care about the fight but he went anyway. To his surprise it was his son and Lou won the fight.  Later Lou would met with his parents and they showed their great disapproval.  Lou gave up boxing and pursued another in acting and comedy. Where he made a great career.  But one of Lou’s favorite lines in many skits would the line he learned from a child, “I am a bad boy”

Some of us in the Baby Boomer generation remember the comedy of Abbott and Costello, their skits are on the internet.  I heard this story from a Paul Harvey and the “Rest of the story” and God moved on heart and mind.

There are many things that can make us drop our head and make us feel bad with regret, but the Good Lord is a Lifter up of our head, as He has the Lift we need.  The Psalmist and usually David said, “Thou, that Lifts up my head” Psa.3:3 He found that hope and Help in the Lord.

Dear Friend, you too can find that hope and help. Call on the Lord today.  For whosever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For with the heart man believes and with mouth confession is made. Want you call on Him today??

God Bless you,

Rev. Dan
