David's love for GOD's house

LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. Psalms 26:8

A Holy place - thy house

A Holy Honor – Honor / glory

First, we see a Holy power, for the word “LORD” is the same Hebrew word used in Genesis Chapter 2, where GOD created the heavens and earth, also man. A very powerful act and this is how David was addressing Him.

Jehovah = "the existing One"

A.           the proper name of the one true God

How do you address GOD??


Secondly, we see a holy passion of David in the word “love” it means a human affection. It is the same Hebrew word used in Genesis 22:2 that says Abraham took Isaac, whom he loved and offer him.  David has a very deep love for the LORD GOD Almighty and His house. So, do you love the LORD??


Thirdly, we see a holy place, “thy house”, GOD’s house. Here David is referring to the tabernacle or temple, where GOD dwell. GOD’s dwelling place. The bible teaches us that GOD wanted to dwell with His children, the children of Israel, in their wilderness journey. And GOD wants to dwell in heart through His spirit, the Holy Spirit, and He may if you invited Him. Clean out your heat through confession and believed in GOD and His son Jesus, who died on the cross for you.

Fourthly, we see a Holy Honor, which means glory, GOD’s great glory would abide in the tabernacle. David saw GOD’s honor, splendor and glory in the tabernacle. I realize this is unusual but allow me to explain.

In that day, GOD would come down and dwell in the tabernacle with all His power and glory. As a sign from GOD, fire came down from heaven on the alter. The high Priest would take part of it to the tabernacle to light the lampstand and burn incense.  Then GOD would come in and dwell in the tabernacle near His people. The tabernacle was very dark, but GOD’s light would fill the room and reveal His Beauty and glory.


May I say, this literally happened with the children of Israel back then and it can happen with you now spiritually into your heart and life, just let Him in. 


Call on the name of the LORD, ask, believe, confess and GOD will hear you. Bleived in His son Jesus and turn from your ways.


For whosoever shall on the name of the LORD, shall be saved and become a child of GOD with a holy life to live and a heavenly home to go to one day.

On a personal note

Hello All,

Our earthly lost is heavens gain. My wife's uncle, Rev. Glen Townsend, went home to be with the LORD this morning. Normally, I do not mention a death in the family, but this one is very special.

You see, Glen was led to the LORD, by father-law Dr. JB Jordan, Pastor of Victory Baptist in Cumming, GA for 20+ twenty years. Glen married JB's sister, Dot, but JB had a burden to see Glen saved and to see them in church. Glen was a FORD man and mechanic, both men worked on cars together. He was known to race you from red light to red light in their day. And JB visited Glen every weekend for a year and finally Glen accepted the LORD, he and his wife Dot, got in church. Then Glen was called by the LORD to preach the gospel.

I remember JB mention this story many times, in the 1980s and 1990s at VBC, trying to encourage other Christians to soul win and have burden for lost souls, which is an old way, that we do not hear about much any more these days.

Well, JB passed first, 2007, but on many Jordan family Christmas party gatherings, Glen would always say to me, with a broken heart, JB came to house for a year and led him to the LORD. Glen was so thankful. He pastor Post Oak BC in Cobb county GA and a couple of other churches in the area.

So goodbye here is to say hello there in heaven. They are running around together now in glory.

So please pray for our family, and I hope this story is a blessing to you.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY, FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE !!

From the beginning

He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,  and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?  So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. Matt 19:4-6

His words on marriage.

The word "wife" in the original Greek language means a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow.

Jesus said a man shall leave parents (father and mother) and become one flesh husband & wife, (man & woman)

The same in the beginning with Adam and Eve.

Dear Friend, please turn to GOD's words, trust Him today.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Be not wise in your own eyes;  fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  It will be healing to your flesh   and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-7

Behold a greater

and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. Matt. 12:42

History has recorded King Solomon's wisdom, riches and temple building. But here in Matthew chapter 12 verse 42, Jesus mentions Solomon to scribes and Pharisees of that day, which  were really the religious ones of that time, also many others that were there that could hear Him.

First, notice His call, Jesus tells them to "Behold", in the Greek language it means as follows,

eidon, "to see," calling attention to what may be seen or heard or mentally apprehended in any way.

Jesus wanted them to hear and mentally apprehend His words about Solomon. What happened in the past, would be used by Jesus for a present day sign to them.  And this same call is going out today as He would have ALL, to hear Him and mentally apprehend or understand Him. Do you hear and understand Him?? Behold Jesus blog reader.

John would write in 1st John chapter 3 verse 1,

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Secondly, notice His claim, Jesus says "a greater than Solomon is here", the word for "greater" means, greater on quantity, superior, more excellent. King Solomon, son of king David, with much riches and wisdom is there a greater?? Why yes!! GOD's son, the LORD Jesus Christ. He was there for them and He is here for you. Greater that the past.

Thirdly, we see His conclusion, "is here", the word "here" means, in this place or in this same spot, as Jesus was revealing himself to the scribes and Pharisees, also all that were there listening to Him. This conclusion is for ALL today as well. Jesus is here!! He is near, just a prayer away.  Here for your future.

Jesus' call was for all there, His claim was for all there and His conclusion is for all there, here  and every where. 

Dear friend, if you are not saved, become a child of GOD, hear and understand Jesus' call today, hear and see Him.  His claim is greater than King Solomon's historical past, as some sees his riches and wisdom and His conclusion is He will be here now and or in your future.
