The Gift of God

The bible says in the New Testament Book of the Ephesians, "For by Grace are you saved, through faith, and NOT of yourself: it is the Gift of God, NOT of works, least any man should boast. chap. 2:8-9
Being saved is a gift from God. In the NT book of Luke, Luke tells us the that Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost. The lost man must be saved. One may ask himself is this me??? Is it I, do I need to be saved ?? The answer is YES.  Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time. Now it must be done. For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Salvation is of the Lord, salvation is of God, it is the gift of God.  You too, can be saved. Call on him today. You'll be glad you did.

Religion 24/7/365

An interesting bumper sticker I saw today. Although, it gave a religious denomination, then said 24/7/365.  Well, I thought, Heaven will be filled with Christians, (ie. Christ like, A follower of Christ, saved and born again)  BUT, the bumper sticker made me think, do I live for Jesus 24/7/365 ??  Does the world see me living for Christ everyday (365 days) ??  The Apostle Paul told the Galatians, for me to live is CHRIST,  and He told the Philippians that he wanted to magnify Christ, meaning and realizing a magnify glass makes an object that is small very big or bigger so that you can see the object better.  And isn't this something we want to do for Jesus, everyday we live and walk before people. Maybe the bumper sticker should say "Living for Christ 24/7/365"  What an awesome responsibility.  And Can you do it??? Lord, help me to live for you, 24/7/365.

God Bless you neighbor,

He did not give up - on me !!!

Jesus did not give up on me.  I heard a youth choir sing this song and the words sounded out in my ears.  I thought about His great labor of love that He did while on this earth and enduring the cross.  And to think, how WE give up on Him so very easy.  A prayer not answered or a bill that does not get miraculously paid.  We believe then, that it's all over and we quit.   BUT greater love no man has than this, He did not give up on me.  And He has loved us with a great love.  He did not give up on us in our salvation, He is not giving up on us during our sanctification and He will not give up on us in our soon to be glorification. (see Titus 2:11-13) I LOVE THE LORD DOWN DEEP IN MY HEART !!! God Bless you neighbor, and be saved, born again, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

The Light and You

The other day, we went to turn on our kitchen light and it did not come on or light up.  Many times we only need our kitchen light to be turned on and it would light up three other rooms.  So until the repair man comes to fix the light, we  have to turn on many other lights to give us enough lighting to work in our kitchen.  I thought what great spiritual lesson.  When one Christian's light goes out or darkens it takes many other Christian lights to shine to work for the one that went out. So pray, that God will help us to keep our lights shining, and our globes clean, to be that bright shining light for the Lord. The song says" be a light for Jesus everyday" Be a light, be a light be a light for Jesus" See Matt.5 :16, Let you light so shine that MEN may SEE you good works.  Lost men need to see your good works !!! What a testimony !!!

The Lord's Day and you

The first day of the week, Sunday, we gather together to commemorate the Lord Jesus Christ and his resurrection.  I am glad the first century Christians established this long ago.  David wrote in the Old Testament, I was glad when they said let us go to the House of the LORD.  Then in Psalms 23 and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.  How about that the Old testament. And Moses even said, Gather yourselves together, (see Duet. )  Of course, IN the New Testament,  Heb. 10:25 that says to assemble ourselves together,  so much the more you see the day approaching.  So, go to the House of the LORD today, and as often as you can. ON Sunday, the first day of the week. You'll be glad you did.

Believing and Living

How do you believe or how much do you believe ???  When  Jesus Christ was on this earth he spoke and moved men (and women) to follow Him.  He moved Fishermen, tax collectors, brothers and Friends, when He spoke to them.  These were common men with common jobs in that day, along with Family and Friends.  And what about you ???  Where are you in the midst of these ??? Do you believe in Jesus???  He speaks to our hearts and mind.  He speaks, most clearly through his words, the Bible. John 3:16 says God loves the world, and he gave his son, Jesus for you, and that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.  The fisherman, tax collector, brothers and friends believed and followed Him, now will you ??? Not mere head knowledge, but heart and mind knowledge of HIM. Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the LORD, with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge HIM and He shall direst your path"
Believe and live that new life with Him.

A life lesson from Football

Today I saw where a coach explained the responsiblity of the center after he hikes to football to the quaterback.  On one play,  the center is suppose to hike the football then go down and block the middle linebacker.  The linebackers are called head hunters, looking for the running backs.  The success of the center doing his assignment could determine, a big or a small gain for the runningback.   Many times, we have to do our part as parents, employees and team members.  The bible says we can do all things through Christ.  He's done his part, but we should do our part to have success and get a big gain for the team.

Another life lesson from Baseball

A Baseball player may get criticized from time to time because of his performance.  But he can change that at the next at bat. Just get a hit, just get on base or even score a run. And then he is OK with the fans and the Coach.  A worker on the job may get criticized for his work, but he can change that on the next day. Stay consistence and do good work. For the Christian, ask God to help you, and He will.

A life lesson from Baseball

A life lesson from the Baseball.

Baseball is very mental.  It pays to understand the game situation, that you are in,  to determine what you do.

One scenario is when a batter comes to the plate with a runner on 1st.  On first pitch he might swing for the fence, or hit it hard somewhere, to advance the runner. If he swings and misses, he should not freak out, exhibit emotions, but rather stay foucs, and perhaps goto plan "B" , just hit it hard somewhere to advance the runner. Since there's a runner on first, the batter must hit the ball to the right side of the field, on the first base side of trhe diamond.  He should stay focus, stay with his options.  An out burst of emotions could give the pitcher an avanage. An out burst of emotions can freak out the batter himself. S-T-A-Y focus. Advance the runner and get on base.

The Gospel Bird or Faithful Fowl

God uses many things, like the Rooster to do his work. The bible said the cock crew, at the appointed time and place, And it crushed the heart of Peter, after hearing the words of the Lord.  It is very interesting who and what God chose to full fill His task.  I think that it speaks volumes how He works.  Did He choose the rooster because that He knew that the rooster would crow anyway or was it case of divine selection with a responsible task from the rooster. And He has chosen many little animals for a divine task.  And if this this true, how much more are we ???

A Thought for Life

Whatever one sows that is what one will reap.  An agriculture law that can apply to LIFE.  If If one plants corn he will reap corn, if he plants beans, he will reap beans.  SO, if one sows GOOD WORKS he will reap good works.  So learn from the law of sowing and reaping.  Do good works and enjoy the harvest.
