Bread from heaven

A December 2023 blog post

 Hello and Merry Christmas blog followers and those who are visiting and viewing this blog. 

Perhaps the good LORD led you here, if so welcome :-)

 I know and realize it's been many months last my last blog post, but GOD has moved on my heart and mind again, (of which I am so thankful)

The bread came that down from heaven.

The first time this happen was in the wilderness when the children of Israel left Egypt going to the promise land, see Exodus 16 in the bible in the Old Testament.  GOD rained down bread "manna" from heaven for the children of Israel.

The second time would be when Jesus came down to earth as a baby in Bethlehem.  You see, Jesus identified himself as the bread of life in John 6 in the bible in the New Testament.  So as GOD gave the Children of Israel bread for life, that is, bread to eat in the wilderness to live,  GOD sent his son Jesus to into this world  that we might have life, eternal life with Him and life to live for him on this earth.

The spiritual symbolism of Jesus' birth are very interesting and note worthy.  

Notice, the city which Jesus was born Bethlehem, which means "house of bread" .  Then when Jesus was born, they laid Him in a manger, a feeding trough. GOD was pointing and is still pointing to all, that Jesus is that bread that came down from heaven.

And so this where Christmas comes in.  As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in this season that is set aside from this,  may we realize the Jesus was that bread the came down from heaven and realize GOD became human flesh and dwell among us on this earth. Emmanuel meaning GOD with us.  May we celebrate this with JOY.

So dear friend, this is the reason for the season, why don't you call on Him today, He's just a prayer away, for whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.

Guard Against False teaching 

 Benjamin Franklin had a similar warning for his fellow citizens: “A great empire, like a great cake, is most easily diminished from its edges.” We in America today would do well to remember Franklin’s warning to guard the core principles of this nation. We are a nation that has, throughout our history, stood united in principle and purpose. If America is to continue to stand for that which is right, it is incumbent upon her citizens to stand together in strength, virtue, and kindness.

Lord God, thank You for Your Word of truth. And, Holy Spirit, guard my life from misinterpretation of scripture and error. Open my eyes to truth as I study Your Word. Remind me that my strength lies in hiding Your Word in my heart that I may not sin against You.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

Trust in the LORD

New Year's Resolution for you

Hello all, 

This blogger has been away for too long, but, with the good Lord's help, I'm back!! 

 A couple of new year’s resolutions that came to my heart and mind, Psalms 25:4-5 and Provers 3:5-7 

“Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ 

 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord and depart from evil.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭ 

Remember GOD is just a prayer away, for whosoever shall on the name of the Lord, shall be saved, may you listen and hear from the spirit of God. For God loves you

The Value of Seeking the Lord

 

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt. 6:33

 

We all have ambitions and desires. And while these are not necessarily wrong, we should analyze our priorities: Where do I invest my time and energy? What or who occupies my thoughts? As important as our earthly pursuits, responsibilities, and relationships may be, they cannot compare to the value of a life spent seeking the Lord.

 

First of all, consider what it means to seek something. The word connotes a strong desire and an energetic quest to achieve it. Suppose you discovered a very productive vein of gold on your property. You wouldn’t just stroll out and look at it occasionally. No, you would gather some equipment and diligently go out each day to chip away at the rocks and collect the precious metal.

 

In the same way, seeking the Lord is not a quick and occasional encounter, but a wholehearted effort to know Him more intimately and follow Him more closely. Those who unreservedly pursue this kind of fellowship with God are determined to spend time with Him; they also want to forsake anything that could hinder growth in their relationship with the Lord. God’s committed followers boldly claim His promises and trust Him to fulfill His Word. Their experiences with the Lord bring amazing satisfaction yet cause them to hunger for more of Him.

The Christian life is meant to be a pursuit of God. To walk through the door of salvation and stand still, never drawing any closer to Him, is to miss the treasures that are available in Christ.

 

Those who seek Him soon discover that knowing Him is the greatest reward of all.

John Quincy Adams (1767–1848) served as the sixth president of the United States. Hear his exhortation to the American people:

I speak as a man of the world to men of the world; and I say to you, Search the Scriptures! The Bible is the book of all others, to be read at all ages, and in all conditions of human life; not to be read once or twice or thrice through, and then laid aside, but to be read in small portions of one or two chapters every day, and never to be intermitted, unless by some overruling necessity.

Psalm 119:105 reminds us that God’s Word “...is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” We who have the Word of God never have to wander in the darkness of uncertainty or indecision.

Father, I love Your Word and the way it speaks to my heart. Reading its words puts joy in my heart and gives me a peace that truly does go beyond my understanding.

Hello All, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Psalm 33:12 When the first settlers arrived in America, the influence of the Bible on their lives came with them. For many, their Christian faith was as much a part of who they were as their brave spirit was, and their faith impacted everything they did. This fact stands out boldly as one sees, again and again, Scripture reflected in the individual colonies’ statements of the goal of their government. The Rhode Island Charter of 1683, for instance, begins this way: “We submit our person, lives, and estates unto our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, and to all those perfect and most absolute laws of His given us in His Holy Word.” In fact, from the first colony at Jamestown to the Pennsylvania Charter of Privileges granted to William Penn in 1701, where “all persons who. . . profess to believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, shall be capable. . . to serve this government in any capacity, both legislatively and executively.” The Bible was considered the rule of life in the colonies. Lord, please keep my mind fixed on You and my thoughts grounded in Your Word so that You can use me to encourage my family, friends, and co-workers today. Contend for the faith

 

 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude v3-4

to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 1:1-2

General Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in the Pacific during World War II, said this in December 1951:

In this day of gathering storms, as moral deterioration of political

power spreads its growing infection, it is essential that every spiritual force be mobilized to defend and preserve the religious base upon which this nation is founded; for it has been that base which has been the motivating impulse to our moral and national growth. History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.There has been either a spiritual reawakening to overcome the moral lapse or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

I know that our nation needs You now more than ever. I pray today for our leaders. Open their hearts to Your Word and to Your will. Please give us a reawakening to Your ways and to Your purpose for our country. Restore to us the knowledge of the principles upon which this nation was founded.

Amen.
